ABSTRACT

Let’s be honest, a lot of therapists end up in private practice almost by default rather than by enthu siastic choice. Many enter years of training with a genuine but vague notion of “wanting to help people”. And then, years later, they realise that there are very few paid counselling jobs available, and at this point, a significant number of trained counsellors effectively “disappear” and never directly use their expensively acquired skills as a means of generating income.
