ABSTRACT

The sexual difference is in fact the only qualitative one—expressed as all or nothing with the exception of the intersexed, who are very few in number the remaining differences are quantitative—they are expressed in terms of more or less—and statistical. To believe that denying the existence of differences leads to the establishment of equality is to forget that differences are a question of fact whereas equality is a question of rights. The ideology of revolution has enabled some degree of equality to be established. In the psychological field, there are only a few statistically significant quantitative differences. A woman, then, may easily have the feeling of being “possessed”, sexually assaulted or even raped. In a case like this, the difference in physical strength between men and women may make her feel inferior. In sexual intercourse, the woman waits for something that her partner will give her, a crucial difference with respect to the solitude of masturbation.
