ABSTRACT

The growing boy could easily feel emotionally crippled by his attempts to achieve that which in everyone's mind and fantasy-life easily emerges from the romantic encounter. It might later advance to a physical realm of the senses where the imagination is spinning and all is perfect –ecstasies of mutually corresponding deep sentiments, and profound and perfect physical union. Imagine, for a moment, a baby just born into its mother's warm and welcoming embrace. A few moments later, the baby's first experience of hunger, communicated through little noises expressing a need for nurturing, corresponds exactly to the mother experiencing her breasts heavy with milk. At times psychotherapists' minds are embroiled in the darkness of sex and its meaning, especially those of them already working in psychodynamic psychotherapy with individuals who, of their own will, "admit" and "confess" the "odd" scenarios that can trigger their sexual desires.
