ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the author initially thought of the use of a sex doll as a rather bizarre behaviour, but she formed different opinions after considering it less presumptuously. Since the dawn of sexual intercourse, women have learnt to fake orgasms to fulfil their male partners' need to feel happy and like "real men", often leaving themselves unsatisfied. They can achieve orgasm using sex toys either alone or during shared sexual encounters, whether with long-time partners or one-night stands. Some of the layers belong to the conscious mind, but more often, for such actions to have occurred, it is the unconscious to which they belong. Unusual sexual practices are intensely related to intimacy and have behind them an early, primitive origin that takes us not only to the initial relationship between mother and baby but also to the time in the womb, as the author demonstrate with an illuminating clinical vignette.
