ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the authors present six individual psychodynamic profiles, based principally on the observational material, a brief relational-neuromotor evaluation, and the observation and findings of the Brunet-Lezine test. It describes the individual profiles into paragraphs that contain significant aspects of the interactions between the individual child and the family environment, and among the sextuplets. Carlo's psycho-motor development is different from that of the other sextuplets. The mother thinks that he suffered before birth "because he was too cramped and uncomfortable in the womb". He has little response to environmental stimuli: he does not participate in group activities, and he shows no interest in any of his siblings and does not seek out adults. Carlo seems to be the only sextuplet who has a special need for personalized care. His request for a one-to-one relationship with the mother, albeit normal, is in fact impossible to realize.
