ABSTRACT
The United States Supreme Court has just nullified a federal and a state law which means that same sex marriage is recognised by the government and that it is legal to marry in California—the thirteenth state to do so. Around the world, France is the latest country legalising same-sex marriage. The majority broke up after three years—a case could be made that this was due to their lack of sex. Many who stayed together had given up their sexual lives altogether. There are also many issues connected with women and sexual desire. All sexual therapy needs further investigation, which is important for the therapist to do. Countertransference issues with therapists can have an impact on the sexual therapy. Women can act out the abuse they suffered in their sexual lives. Sexual therapy with women can be a slow road. Women often have not been taught about dating, having sex, being completely into their sexual lives.
