ABSTRACT
This clinical paper—the last one read to the British Psycho-Analytical Society—was published in its Scientific Bulletin. The author postulates here that the moment in which introjection becomes possible is when an object can be given its freedom to come and go at will and how the moment of "closure" sets in motion the depressive struggle towards introjective identification.
