ABSTRACT

This chapter presents critical discussions on knowledge enhancement and learning from coaching outcomes in the context of family business coaching using relevant research evidence, real life case studies and examples. It highlights the key issues of coaching outcomes in a family business context. The chapter focuses on the professional development of coaching practitioners using the insights drawn from the outcomes of coaching in a family business context and associated learning. It provides relevant activities and assessments for coaches/coaching practitioners to use in their own practice, and appreciates the value of coaching outcomes to develop new skills, techniques, and tools to tailor coaching practices for family businesses. Coaching outcomes in a family business context are indicators of expected change in the desired direction, and strong predictors of increases in performance on a range of measures including personal, professional and organisation/business metrics.
