ABSTRACT

One of the questions asked repeatedly is whether the results of the London Depression Intervention Trial should be attributed to the specific characteristics of the patients, to those of the therapists, or to those of the psychotherapeutic model. In other words: are the findings generalizable and replicable? Would different systemic therapists have produced different results? How much has to be attributed to the therapist factor? Are patients recruited to a research project different from those who would normally benefit from such an approach?
