ABSTRACT

The great artist Michelangelo is credited with the idea that inside every slab of marble and block of stone lies a beautiful statue. The job of the artist is not, therefore, to ‘create’ a statue, but rather to remove the outer layers of stone or marble so that the beautiful statue can emerge. Martin Seligman, author of Authentic Happiness, explains that the more we live from a place of personal integrity, the more inspired we feel and this in turn helps us make choices that reflect what we really want. So a further task is to start putting ones Mission into practice every day, to the best of their abilities, both in terms of the choices that they make and the ways in which they behave.
