ABSTRACT

The new modes of origin would be first and foremost new ways of touching on the structural defect of the Symbolic; the Symbolic’s inability to express origin. So it would not be a case of new modes of origin but of new modes of dealing with the elusive Real of origin. To consent to life is also to consent to the mystery, “to the mystery that for each individual presides over their promotion to a state of being, that fixes them and imposes on them a point in space, a moment in time”. In the end, everything that relates to conception, filiation, and genealogy is only the imaginary and symbolic processing of an inaccessible Real that surrounds the creation of life through procreation, be it sexual or medically assisted. Whether it be a new mode of origin, or a classic procreation, the child that results is equated with the mystery of his appearance.
