ABSTRACT

Social Dreaming at School is a project which took place at the Pacifici e De Magistris High School in Sezze, an Italian small town near Rome. Students and teachers of the school, which provides different courses of studies—humanities, science, social sciences, and accounting—were invited. The chapter aims to provide adolescents with aid to their psychophysical growth through a primary prevention agency that fosters peer cooperation. A standard modality of Social Dreaming was applied to a specific context as a school: short theoretical introduction to Social Dreaming and a Matrix's evolution; a Matrix, Dream Reflection Group (DRG); and the morning after a new Matrix, a DRG, and another Matrix. Social Dreaming supplies students with a democratic and equal space which helps them to confront each other about issues central to adolescence and everyday life: clubs; use and abuse of alcohol; family; school; sexual love; first couple experiences; final exams; and leaving school to go to university.
