ABSTRACT
Ellie’s dream is not a single dream; it is a core narrative from which numerous dreams branched out over the years, beginning in her childhood. There are flowers, jewels, clothing, and precious objects. Sometimes, there are fountains and swimming pools. All these wonderful spaces and contents are hidden behind the door. Fused minor labia is a “minor” anomaly of the female genitals in which there is normal development of both internal and external female organs except that the minor labia are connected by adhesions covering the vaginal opening. She pointed to the drawing of the vulva and specifically the minor labia, calmly and scientifically explaining to her daughter that unfortunately in her case, these minor labia were fused and the menstrual flow would have difficulty getting out. The doctor, however, used a local anaesthetic and he gave Mother an anaesthetic ointment to put on the labia prior to urination.
