ABSTRACT

This chapter offers an image of the modern adolescent. The modern adolescent grows up without great pressure from his parents towards the acquisition of autonomy and independence. A dangerous complicity can be noticed in the interactions of male adolescents, their families, and society, which does not bode well for the life of the young Italian male. The adolescent girl appears to be, in comparison to boys, more willing to achieve quality in her professional training, both in her studies and at work, and more interested in taking up advanced studies in psychological, social, literary, or artistic fields. The other important consideration adolescent girls must not forget is that being too yielding makes them less valuable. The chapter provides some suggestions to young women, so that they can build into their relationship with the other sex a beneficial escalation, rather than a vicious one.
