ABSTRACT

In the 1970s, thanks to the integration of transactional analysis and Gestalt therapy, the first alternative to the Bernean interpretation for developing a deconfusion was conceived. Berne talks of dreams as a metaphor expressed by the unconscious about the script: The therapist considers the patient’s dream as a direct expression of the unconscious script protocol. In the interpretative technique, the therapist will guide the patient towards free associations on the various components of the dream: persons; places; objects, animals and actions. In re-decisional literature, let us consider different works on the techniques applied directly to the Parent ego state of the patient. All of them, in essence, are united by two common elements: That they are different from Berne’s operations with the Parent, as these are interventions of the therapist that have the aim of supporting the Child to consent to a return to the operations on the Adult. Another they are fundamentally part of a re-decision process.
