ABSTRACT

The ingenious century-old disclosure by Sigmund Freud is still currently valid and able to incite new theoretical and clinical developments. The fecundity of die concept of unconscious is found not only in the field of clinical psychoanalysis: it touches almost every discourse in which Wisdom is organized. The Freudian unconscious structured as an articulate language in the metaphoric-metonymic function generates a fortuitous determinism, which in the historical time of resignifying, fully rules subjectivity. Sublimation will be the way through which the subject will be able to "asymptomatically" forge its cause and symbolically deal with his desires. Currently, pathologies are not predominantly the expression of the repressed unconscious as an ailment of subjectivity but, rather, appear as disorders of jouissance. Consensual sadomasochistic pacts are also expressions of a contractual simulacrum articulated on the shared fixation around fetish objects that provide orgasm-bordering pain, more than about highly symbolic fantasies.
