ABSTRACT

Imprinting is implicit and indissoluble in women, forever engraved in the depths of their minds, their bodies age, deteriorate and progressively lose the attraction and glamour of previous years, of the time of conception and maternity. Imprinting is heralded to woman through the eyes of men, where she mirrors herself in men’s longing, through the initial image of the young mother which remains trapped in the unconscious memory of the son. The fidelity a woman often requires of her male companion is a consequence of the fear she experiences over the fact that he always responds to the imprecise and anonymous demand of imprinting in the body of any woman: just any “chick”. Women are generally very preoccupied with what other women are wearing, carefully inspecting them, either with envy or with contempt, to compare make-up, anatomy or attire, matching imprinting with obvious competition.
