ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the author presents a case history of child Mark at age of 12. In this case, there was a marked clinical change following the therapeutic consultation, and it would appear that this change was more the result of the communication between the boy and the author’s than of a change of attitude towards the boy in his family. It will be observed that this boy had a preoccupation with water and that eventually he established his identity by going to sea. In the series of three psychotherapeutic consultations there came about a natural development of a bridge between Mark's conscious and unconscious, or a bridge between inner and outer realities. If asked about dreams at the beginning he would not have been able to remember any.
