ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the author provides some case notes and outlines his experience of diagnosis and treatment in the health care system from birth to his mid-forties. His story demonstrates the limitations of seeking healing through medical care, and its various interventions and pharmaceutical treatments. He describes the experience of the MindBody therapeutic process, which took the details of this biography seriously, and out of which healing became possible. There was, however, in one MindBody talk session, one very striking revelation, which took him completely by surprise. Of course, talking, and talking through the touch experiences were still important. However, the ice needed to thaw in order for his to experience the power of those emotions in his body. In the winter of 2010, during the course of the author's therapy, he and his family spent a couple of days in a sleepy village a couple of hours from home.
