ABSTRACT

Even confident writers sometimes try to figure out what their final sentence of a ten-page paper will be while they are composing their second or maybe third sentence. They may even worry about criticism while in the midst of struggling with the wording of a particular sentence. Good singers not only get the notes and words of a song right, they also express themselves in a unique style, blending sounds and lyrics with musical expressiveness. Confident writers similarly have a unique voice. What they write is comfortably assisted by the way they go about writing it. The several examples the author presented not only illustrate different ways of going about writing, they also suggest how different types of people view themselves as writers. Their personalities color their approach to writing. The authors go on to suggest how the style of writing writers’ produce can best reflect the type of person are their: they special voice as a writer.
