ABSTRACT
The whole first year is an extraordinary one in terms of the consolidation of development on the journey that babies have accomplished from birth. Babies need their parents to see them both for the independent explorers that they are, wanting to make their own relationships and make their own way in the world, as well as for the tiny babies that they are, still very much in need of cradling and scaffolding.
