ABSTRACT

The part of the unconscious that people access with the exercise is known as event-specific knowledge—information about individual events from past. Changing one's lifestyle after a heart attack requires acknowledging the emotional trauma of the event. Writing in the way not only helps process life experiences, but it can aid in process of self-discovery. Expressive writing, dictating, and speaking are different from other forms of creative writing. From nursery rhymes to literature, storytelling is everywhere; it is an almost universal property of languages across the globe and a skill that people develop as early as two to three years of age. The process of storytelling allows people to begin to see how people might be distorting memories and allows people access to emotions in unconscious that people are not paying attention to. The model recognizes types of texts—Vividness, Synthesis, Movement, and Constriction. These labels, derived from clinical psychology and psycholinguistics, are by no means final at the time.
