ABSTRACT

In January 1987, sessions began for what was to become Cloud Nine. In addition to co-producing Cloud Nine, George Harrison and Jeff Lynne co-wrote several tracks from the album. The song began its life with the curious title “Aussie Fab,” evidently owing to the fact that it originated during Harrison and Lynne’s trip to Australia to view the Grand Prix. During the subsequent sessions for Cloud Nine, they would periodically revisit the original version, adding and modifying the material as they went along. In a radio interview given to promote Cloud Nine, a listener asked George who had played the part of the Walrus in the video clip. During the sessions for Cloud Nine, Harrison began performing at various live venues. When the Cloud Nine sessions were largely completed, he made another appearance at Wembley Arena, this time guesting with his old friend, Bob Dylan.
