On the famous cover of their last studio album, Abbey Road, the Beatles are seen walking, single file, across a London street. In terms of the local geography, they are actually walking away from EMI Studios which is behind them and to the left. George Martin was handling the archival aspect of the project by going through various Beatles recordings made before and during the Beatles’ tenure at EMI Studios. Martin was busy with the archival aspect of the project, and decided not to resume his previous role as the Beatles’ studio producer. Interwoven with the listening sessions are scenes of the Beatles chatting in Studio Two. Listeners get a rare insight into how works can evolve within the studio environment.
