ABSTRACT

This chapter looks at frameworks for determining what types of data to collect, shared tools for engaging in data collection, and strategies for how to share that data both internally and externally. It explores a data collection and impact continuum. The chapter considers strategies for analyzing and utilizing the data to improve practice. It discusses approaches to sharing this data with stakeholders in ways that will promote programmatic longevity and sustainability. Like gathering teacher practice data, student outcomes data also requires triangulation from multiple stakeholders across multiple sources. Gathering, analyzing, and using data for the purposes of program sustainability and improvement is a critical skill for coaches and program leaders to develop. A tech coach or program leader could easily use these logs over time to determine the number of teachers a coach is seeing each week or over time and how often the coach is visiting with each teacher.
