ABSTRACT

Dynamic repatterning is at the heart of the anticipatory present moment. In dynamic pattern thinking it is as if the chess board itself is a dynamic pattern which is changing with circumstances. Dynamic thinking requires two properties of the reflexive thought process: the recognition of underlying patterns of thought and the movement of the constituents of thought into different juxtapositions to reveal new meanings and insights. Reflexive participation, or from another perspective group consciousness, enhances the way groups can develop the requisite variety and shared insight for transformative innovation. Pattern thinking requires reflexivity. Reflexivity implies that the presence of ourselves as observers is fundamental in our understanding of any situation. The observer is no longer an isolated centre but rather a node in an extended network. The individual is no longer alone but is open to intersubjective creative exploration of systems knowledge.
