ABSTRACT

This chapter examines not only the Project Risk Plan, but also the Document Plan and Resource Plan, which are also critical to the effective operation of the Project Management System. The determination of risk for a particular activity is an iterative process that starts with analysing what items can delay that activity or increase its operating costs. When developing the Project risk management plan (PRMP), the approach is used to analyse each activity—especially those on the critical path—as well as any additional internal and all external threats, such as heavy rains, flooding, fire, civil unrest. PRMP process involves the following steps. The first step is segregating the analysis into the four phases of the project—civil, electrical, mechanical, and Instrument and Controls. The second step, an analysis of the area where the construction activities will be performed must include reviewing the following documents: Site Geotechnical Report and Meteorological History.
