ABSTRACT

Small and medium enterprises have followed organisational models over time intending to guarantee sustainability and profit of organisations concerning their organisational strategic goals. An organisation with better intangible process assets has better prospects of long-term success. The Strategic management field addresses the conception of intangible assets as important factors of the constitution of an organisation’s intellectual capital, thus as levers for economic and wealth indicators of the society that the organisation is related to. The chapter presents a systemic approach for simulating through System Dynamics (SD) and Multi-agent Simulation the interaction of intangible process assets in their assignment of leveraging strategic and business goals of an organisation for guaranteeing its sustainability, survivability and continuous improvement. SD and Multi-agent models are used for representing the dynamics of the organisation, in which relations between process assets and strategic goals become visible, enabling the assessment of process assets.
