ABSTRACT

Lipstick color and shape can tell a lot about a person. On stage, characters are reflected in how they wear their lip color. Starting with lipliner, this chapter showcases the importance of using product to line the lips and provides suggestions on how to use it effectively. The chapter then switches over to lip color and the variety of products that can be used and the effects which can be created. Finishes, like matte and glossy, are identified as well as descriptions of when to use them. Following this is a list of four lip effects every performer should understand – over-drawing, under-drawing, concealing, and applying masculine lip color. Each effect is detailed and contains a vivid photograph of the example.
