ABSTRACT

Classification simply means to group a number of things (living or nonliving) based on similarities or dissimilarities, for easy identification, explanation, and documentation. Different species of mangroves are classified here to make them as broad groups and segregate from one group to another, mainly between the communities, for identification in the landscape vegetation. Few attributes, which characterize major mangroves, are visible in the spot, distinctive among respective communities and are considered as the gateway of readers for easy identification of mangroves communities in the field. This classification is only for major mangroves, the main component of mangroves vegetation and for which the mangrove ecosystems recognized worldwide.
