Further, parking affects nearly every real estate type and requires unique strategies and approaches to effectively serve the various needs of cities, universities, healthcare institutions, transit stations, residential communities, airports, corporate office buildings, and retail and entertainment destinations. The parking industry offers opportunities for professionals and experts from a variety of backgrounds, requiring skills in planning, design, construction, management, security, technology, economics, science, marketing, and even behavioral sciences. Parking professionals are also faced with ever-changing real estate development trends and advancing technologies that will have long-term effects on the parking industry in the future, and the opportunities to create real change that will affect the entire fabric of such a significant industry are endless.
