ABSTRACT

The parking industry is a unique employment field, and not one typically dreamed of as a child. However, it offers a unique range of careers and the opportunity to use one’s skills across a variety of specialties. As technology expands capabilities, new roles, and opportunities for different types of careers are also becoming available. As with any other industry, it is important to consider the structure of the organization or institution, and identify professionals with the strengths and skills necessary to effectively serve customers and other staff. To successfully support parking industry employees, managers must attract applicants with the skills and experience necessary to handle the role, accurately define the job description, and stick to those responsibilities as much as possible. This will allow management to know that the employee is effectively achieving their goals and provide them with the resources to succeed at the job. Further, providing opportunities for professional development is extremely important, to give employees the resources and knowledge they need to continue to succeed in their position and support the goals and needs of the organization.
