ABSTRACT

Linear induction accelerators are developed in various scientific centers of several countries, such as Russia, USA, Japan and France (see Table 1.1). A major contribution to the development of accelerator technology was made by specialists from the Tomsk Polytechnic University. To create these accelerators, the original layout scheme and element base were used: low-impedance strip forming lines [1]; multichannel spark dischargers with current divided between channels [2]; non-linear saturation chokes [3]. The accelerators produced in the TPU are used for the formation of electron beams, the power supply to relativistic microwave devices (undulators, klystrons, magnetrons, reflex triodes), pumping of gas lasers, etc.
