ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces recent research advances in manufacturing semiamorphous composite materials containing thermoelectric nanoscale grains by controlled injection casting and presents the results of a study on the thermoelectric behavior of nanocomposite materials. The research results show the existence of nanoscale grains in amorphous metallic substrates. It is concluded that semiamorphous nanocomposites may decouple thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity, thus improving the thermoelectric energy conversion efficiency of nanocomposite materials.
