ABSTRACT

It is precisely because I do not believe God ‘exists’ that I regard myself as a person of faith. There is no reason for this and that, surely, is the point. In my case, that faith is expressed and enriched by the Christian canon and its rites – not that I am either a diligent or devout ritualist. The word ‘faith’ is also used in Zen Buddhism. It refers to trust in life, ultimate reality, true Self. 1
