ABSTRACT

This chapter provides information to those who are looking for strategies on how to beat Father Time, explanations for the causes of aging, life cycle, life span, and factors of longevity for enjoying life to its fullest. The aging process is complicated. It involves the effects of heredity, as well as acquired factors, including lifestyle, eating habits, physical activities, health, and diseases. Control of the aging process lies not only in the hands of God but also in the hands of men. Physiological aging includes all the universal physiological degenerative changes, which develop after an organism reaches maturity. The human growth and aging life cycle may be broadly divided into three stages: growth stage, peak growth stage, and aging stage. Aging from 65 to becoming a centenarian or to death may not be enjoyable because of physical or mental decay and debilitating changes.
