ABSTRACT

The literature on SST is replete with noted figures passing on the hard-earned lessons that they have gained from practising single-session therapy (e.g. Bloom, 1992; Hoyt, 2018; Talmon, 1990). While these lessons are worth learning, it should be remembered that these were learned by people who practise SST in their own way. Please bear this in mind when I discuss in this chapter the lessons that I have personally learned from practising SST in my own way. In doing so, please note that I will only include a point in this chapter if I have learned the lesson after making a mistake or after some kind of struggle.
