ABSTRACT

Access to basic services should be provided by public institutions, although frequently, they are incapable of providing sustainable solutions on their own due to lack of resources, corruption, or the complexity of reaching hard-to-access low-income communities. The solution provides access to the Internet via a smartphone, tablet, laptop or any other device with standard Wi-Fi technology. A lack of a longer-term strategy and business models on how to maintain and operate water projects in developing regions is apparent. Deeply motivated by the crucial issues they are facing, they want to take action but often need professional support to do so, especially in identifying real business opportunities. The financial support provided through the government’s program Minha Casa, Minha Vida allows the construction company to develop competitive construction material and technology in order to provide sustainable housing opportunities for the Base of the Pyramid, which are not only affordable but also fit their needs.
