ABSTRACT

The sole reason why a business exists is to create financial value for its shareholders. Among the various upcoming tools and technologies that serve to enhance this value, Big Data is perhaps the most powerful. This chapter is intended for those business managers who desire to use Big Data to arrive at crucial business decisions. We have not gone into details of Big Data storage and hardware but focused more on the analytics and how managers can assess if an investment in Big Data analytics is worth the cost and effort involved. The use of Big Data can not only generate more revenue, it can help optimize costs and help in greater customer satisfaction with more innovative offerings.
