ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book discusses some of the major changes being imposed on further education by government. Further changes in the funding of institutions, in the curricula and assessment processes have yet to work themselves through the system. The book describes an examination of some critical comments on the Government White Paper Education and Training for the twenty-first Century. People with special educational needs appeared to be marginalised yet again within this new legislation. The book deals with Cooper's observations that struggle for choice. Issues that are 'crucial' to the well-being of disabled people and people with learning difficulties are not satisfactorily addressed, for provision continues to be 'patchy'. It ends with the perceptions and feelings of disabled people and people with learning difficulties.
