ABSTRACT

An organization has established a training, cognitive readiness competence development initiative, it is important that the initiative be maintained. Individual project and program managers need to understand how they are able progress their own careers through the initiative. The organization should establish a means of collecting data, collating the data, and assessing the data as to how the projects and programs are being managed. Organizations need to understand what is important to them as a business, both strategically and from an operational business model, and how and what projects and programs they should and will manage. Cognitive readiness of project and program management consists of more than the knowledge and skills of the discipline. One of the motivations of cognitive readiness for project and program management that should exist is openness to continue to grow through feedback. A process is necessary to assess and measure cognitive readiness and to monitor the effectiveness of the learning in terms of business results.
