ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book looks at the disciplinary influences that can play a significant role and the ways of working that they involve. It explains one of the most compelling of the narratives: students as partners. The book considers the concept of excellence in teaching and reflect on how it might be realised. It discusses how Coaching Educators might draw ideas from working with others and taking a more collective approach to practice. The book considers the challenges and opportunities inherent in taking a lead within Coaching Educator's teaching practice. It analyses where Coaching Educators are encouraged to look at Coaching Educator's teaching using a range of tools, including lenses on practice, involving Coaching Educator's colleagues, and developing Coaching Educator's own strategies to incorporate reflection into Coaching Educator's work as a day-to-day activity.
