ABSTRACT

The campaign committee is the primary source of expertise for the campaign. The most effective campaign teams are those with volunteer team members supervised by a strong, capable, and likable manager. A thoroughly organized and properly executed volunteer structure minimizes wasted time and reflects well on the campaign manager (CM) and candidate. Many states keep track of campaign contributions and expenditures (C&E) online for review. The chair or co-chairs are the faces of the campaign, and their standing in the community will be directly linked to the campaign's success. To set up a campaign activity requiring clerical workers, contact people who have indicated they will help with clerical work on sign-up sheets or noted on a returned remit envelope. Although there are few, if any, campaign activities that have a greater return on investment than canvassing, it is important to keep in mind that canvassing is not for everyone.
