ABSTRACT
Xiaohong is the only one of three sisters who has not gone to the United States in search of a different life. As a result, she is the one to whom it fell to care for her mother when she came down with Alzheimer's disease. And although Xiao hong is still young, she seems older and more serious than either of her sisters. And serious is the word for her: serious look, serious dress, and a serious attitude toward life and her job. I know from talking to her sisters that she never complains of the problems of living in China.
