ABSTRACT
At five feet, six inches, Qiaoyu is tall for a Chinese female. Her height and dark skin make her stand out in the south, where most women are smaller and have delicate skin. Like the women in Gauguin's paintings from Tahiti, she is not beautiful but exotic.
