ABSTRACT
Liquid helium4 undergoes a transition at 2.18°K, which may be demonstrated in a spectacular manner. When normal liquid helium, known as Hel, at the boiling point is cooled to 2.18°K, the boiling abruptly stops and the quiescent low-temperature modification, liquid helium II, (Hell) appears.
