ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the author provides a comprehensive treatment of the subject, drawing on writers and researchers from across a range of social and behavioral sciences and the humanities. It also represents the experiences of women of diverse backgrounds and lifestyles. The chapter talks about Jack he has been a policeman for twenty-five years and a sex crimes investigator for six; and Ken, he is a thirty-four-year-old public defender who is married to a feminist, and strongly supports the women's movement. Most rape victims are very honest and frightened, and many of them have extended fears and apprehensions. The person who's frequently most shook up and difficult to deal with is the boyfriend. They are extremely emotional and defensive. There are times, we joke, and that the rape occurred after the sexual intercourse. Rapes have been going on for a long time, they're going to be going on for a long time—as there are boys and girls.
