ABSTRACT
Whenever engaging an enemy in battle, if a conducive location offers strategic advantages, you should contend with the enemy to be first to occupy it, for then you will be victorious in combat. Should the enemy's forces arrive first, do not attack them; it will be more advantageous to await some change in their situation and then suddenly strike. A tactical principles from the Art of War states: "Do not attack on contentious terrain."
