ABSTRACT
In general, in warfare if the enemy's forces are deployed in good order and their spirits are sharp, you should not yet engage them in battle. Rather, it would be better to solidify your fortifications and outlast them, waiting for their spirits to decline as their deployment becomes prolonged. If you then arise and strike them, you will always be victorious. A tactical principle states: "Move after others in order to await their decline."
