ABSTRACT

Whenever engaging an enemy in battle, if your two fortified encampments are some distance apart and your strategic power approximately equal, you can employ light cavalry in a provocatory attack supported by forces in ambush that await their response. Then their army can be destroyed. However, if the enemy uses this tactic, you cannot employ your entire army to strike them. A tactical principle from the Art of War states; "When an enemy far off provokes us into battle, they want our men to advance."
